The work
What power washing is for
Power washing, also called pressure washing, is high pressure cleaning for hard surfaces that can take it. Concrete, pavers, brick and steps are the usual candidates. Over a few seasons those surfaces pick up algae and a flat grey film that makes everything look older than it is, and pressure is what takes it back off.
Dirt builds up slowly enough that most people stop noticing it. Washing one section is usually the moment it becomes obvious, because the line between the washed and unwashed sides is hard to miss.
RWB power washes residential and commercial exteriors across New York City, Nassau County and Suffolk County, and works all year with 24-hour emergency services available.
- Concrete driveways and walkways
- Paver patios and pool surrounds
- Brick and stone
- Front steps and entrances
Choosing
Power washing or soft washing
The two are not interchangeable. The surface decides which one is right, and using the wrong one is how exteriors get damaged.
Use pressure
Concrete driveways, paver patios, brick, stone and steps. Dense, hard surfaces that will not lift, split or dent under a strong stream of water.
Use low pressure instead
Siding, roofs, fences and painted wood. High pressure will chew those up, force water where it should not go, and strip finish along with the dirt. That work is soft washing.
Property types
Residential and commercial power washing
Houses
Driveways, walkways, front steps, patios and paver areas around a pool or a yard. This is the work that changes how a property looks from the street more than almost anything else you can do in a day.
Commercial property
Entrances, walkways, loading areas and hard surfaces around a building. The same surfaces that get plowed and salted in winter usually need washing once the season turns.
Power washing runs across the same area as the rest of RWB. See the service areas, or call 347-517-9920 and describe the surface.
Questions
Power washing questions
What surfaces do you power wash?
Hard surfaces that can take pressure. Concrete, pavers, brick, stone and steps are the usual ones, indoors and out of the weather being the exceptions.
Is power washing the same as pressure washing?
They are two names for the same thing. Both mean cleaning a surface with a high pressure stream of water rather than scrubbing it.
Can high pressure damage my siding?
It can, which is why siding is not power washed. Siding, roofs, fences and painted wood get low pressure instead, which is soft washing.
Do you wash commercial property?
Yes. Entrances, walkways, loading areas and the hard surfaces around a building are all part of the work, the same as residential driveways and patios.
What time of year is best?
Most washing happens once the snow is gone and the weather warms up, which is when the season shifts from plowing to property work. RWB runs all year either way.
