What the work looks like in the city
City property runs tight. Driveways are short where they exist at all, buildings share entrances, and the useful surface is often the sidewalk and the steps rather than a wide open lot. That shapes every service RWB brings into the five boroughs.
In winter, that means snow removal in the city is frequently walkway and entrance work as much as plowing. The path from the street to the door is what people actually use, so it gets cleared and salted rather than left for later.
Parking is the other city-specific problem. One vehicle in the wrong place can stop a small lot from being plowed at all, which is why towing and snow work are handled by the same company here.
Once the weather turns, the city work shifts to junk removal out of apartments, basements and walk-ups, and to washing.
